Sunday Brunch Dutch Baby Recipe

I pulled a rock star move for Sunday Brunch. How so, you ask? According to my six year old son, I made a pancake that looked like volcano. It wasn’t really a volcano, it was a Dutch Baby.

A Dutch Baby is a giant bad ass pancake (or popover), simple to prepare and easy to bake. I didn’t even have time to put on an apron. Hands on time about 5 mins. Serve with powdered sugar, fruit & lemon juice.

Dutch Baby serves 4 as main

  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tbsp sugar

Preheat oven to 400f, melt butter in a round casserole dish (I used a large cast iron skillet for dramatic exploding effect). Combine eggs, flour, milk, sugar in a blender. When butter is melted pour batter directly into the casserole and bake for 20 minutes.

Remove from the oven, sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve immediately, it will start to deflate.

This is a perfect no fuss sunday brunch treat.
